Sweat, breathing or allowing tears from decompressing the sauna is a sacred place to heal within being surrounded by elements of nature is a natural cure.
Finding a lack in the availability to sauna throughout the state, Denise and Mary dreamed up of portable sauna offerings and pop up events where people could appreciate the great outdoors, a sauna to your special occasion or ceremonial purposes for healing.

Denise Weaver
Co Owner
Denise is a devoted wife and mother and she always makes time for her family and friends. She loves strongly and fiercely and keeps her focus on living a peaceful, joyful life. She has lived in Maine for nearly 20 years and is deeply rooted in the community and landscape here. She studied sociology at U.N.E as a means to find herself and her place in this world. She took her experience with farming and joined it with her passion for social justice and has been working in grassroots agriculture ever since. She has been working for MOFGA Certification Services as an inspector for many years and loves the opportunity she gets to seek out all the nooks and crankies of Maines’ farmlands and to feel that connection to the land and the purity of real food.
Denise has been an avid sauna practitioner for as long as she can remember. She has experienced many kinds of sauna over her years from professional private saunas, backyard casual saunas to spiritual ashram and traditional Temazcal ceremonies. The draw Denise has to the practice of sauna is the deep heat therapy that she can feel in her bones and the sweet release of all tension and aches with the extreme of cold water bathing.
Denise met Mary roughly 15 years ago dancing to local music in Portland and their connection was kismet. They bring out the silly sides of each other and embody fun when they are together. They aspire to set this silly, relaxed, bff vibe into Too Haute Saunas so that everyone who experiences it gets that time cut loose, laugh and most importantly to heal.
